5 new Whatsapp Features Worth knowing
1. Document Sharing
A new WhatsApp update has added the document sharing feature in the Android smartphones.The document sharing feature is already available on many rivals massaging app. But there is a catch in the document sharing feature of the WhatsApp update, It allows you to send only the pdf files with the message. It means you can not send any of the .doc,.xls, .txt or any other format other than pdf. There is no official announcement about future updates start supporting these features.
How to share?
In order to share file, you need to click the attachment icon on the top right area of the chat window, Select document option and it will list the pdf files in your file system. You can not select specific folder or browse the directory structure.
2. Google Drive, Dropbox and icloud drive support.
In the latest update on iPhone version of the WhatsApp, the app has added a feature which allow users to send files from their cloud storage account of google Drive, Dropbox, oneDrive and iCloud Drive.
This essentially allows user to share any photos and videos stored on their cloud account to their WhatsApp account. However, transfer of files other than photos and videos is still not supported.
3. Group Limit Increase.
WhatsApp has recently increase the member limit one can have in a group. The limit has been increased to 256 members. This number previously was limited to 100. This update is available to both android and iOS apps.
4. History tab and Shared Link.
It has always been tedious to find the video or other media shared with some users. The WhatsApp has added a media screen feature with its new update, It allows you to aggregate a media screen to each of the conversation of your chat. The screen shows all the media contents like videos, images and links,that have been sent or received to that user.It also comes with a shared link history tab, which contains links history in reversed order. Tapping the links opens it in browser.
5. Video with Pinch to zoom.
The iOS update of app has included one cool new feature to it. It is 'pinch to zoom video'. Yes now user can now zoom on a specific part of video while playing in WhatsApp.
